The Flatiron will remain intact, and receive a thorough renovation by our team of skilled craftsmen to restore this historic icon beyond its original glory.

What will happen to the Flatiron building?

In short, only good things! The building is not going anywhere, and we are committed to restoring it according to the highest standards of historical preservation for generations to enjoy. The architect of the building, Albert Wirth, would be very proud.

What type of hotel will the Flatiron be?

The Flatiron will be a unique, independent boutique hotel operated in the current Flatiron building. It will be designed to complement the unique culture of Asheville.

What will happen to the current tenants of the Flatiron?

The Flatiron Preservation Group is working closely with the tenants to assist in relocation. Also, we’re offering a generous compensation package which will help tenants get settled in their new space, when the time comes for relocation.

How are you preserving the building?

From the owners to the architect to our award-winning construction team, we’ve put together a team who are committed, first and foremost, so making sure that the Flatiron is preserved for future generations and upholds the standards set by state and local preservation guidelines.

When will the hotel open?

Construction is anticipated to begin at the end of 2019. We’re hoping to celebrate our Grand Opening in late 2020.
